I am closing my salon and was wondering if anyone could tell me what you think I could sell my client list for. I have been contacted by two of my conpetitors and I don't even know where to begin. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Depends if the see value in just he active or the others as well. My list goes well beyond 10K clients, but of course the active part is less - thanks to college students.

So take that into account and run an active client report. From there you could do some math based on income and the average that each client spent.

That gives you an idea of what they are spending and thus what they could be worth. They may only wish to pay a fraction of what each spends in a year, but it give you are more tangible figure to work from.

chances are over 50% off your database is the same as there. depending on each salons time in business.

as far as value goes its like anything. its worth what someone will pay.

if youve got 2 interested parties sell it to the highest bidder.

I spent $500 once on a data base once and it was well worth it. The thing is if you are closing your clients will go to another salon usually the closest. Just feel out the salons that are looking to buy it and who ever offers the most gets it.
