Re: what is the meaning of ''tingle''? Since nobody answered.....Circulation is not as great the farther away you get from your heart. As you know your stomach gets nice and dark because there is lots of fluid and circulation there. So your legs and feet are harder to tan.....farther from the heart. Tingle increases the surface micro-circulation bringing that nice oxygenated fluid to the surface which in turn rewards you with an increased tan. An instant gratification is you are red and flushed after use which people like as they get that fresh from the sun look. Bronzers are essentially added color or "paint" as we say, that is added for a heightened synthetic color.

Although a burn is NOT needed. Knowing the above post and this I tell people its a simulated skin burn without that damage. It feels like a burn but goes away and does indeed produce a better REAL tan versus the temporary fake tan of bronzers.

It went something like this: Have you ever noticed that when you are playing a sport outside or are being active, you will get a better tan than you will if you are just laying there. Your circulation is increased, when your circulation increases, this provides more oxygen to the skin. A good example of lack of oxygen and tanning is the mark your sometimes get on your tail bone. It is depressed against the acrylic. Therefore, it does not have proper circulation and is not getting the oxygen to develop a tan. |

Tingle Products: Physical Effect: Tingle products use ingredients to cause a mild to severe irritation/reddening of the skin during your tanning session. When the tanner gets out of the tanning bed, they see an "instant result" of skin redness and feel a tingling or burning sensation on their skin. The belief is that tingling products stimulate micro-circulation to increase oxygen supply to the skin making your skin tan better. Psychological Effect: Redness “ Instantly” After Tanning Remember as a teenager coming home from the beach or lake after being in the sun all day? You were sun burned bright red. Your skin was already starting to sting. But you knew you were going to be tan, even if for a short time, from your time in the sun. Too many tanners think that sun overexposure results in tan skin, but sun burning and tanning are not the same thing. Indoor tanning salons work to tan the skin without burning. Most tanners will not have a dramatic visible difference from when they started the tanning session and when it ends with a regular tanning lotion. Basically, tingling products provide a simulated sunburn. Tingle products act to satisfy the mental need to see and feel “instant results” after their tanning session. The effects of tingling products fade in a few hours.

HP beds/lamps in a proper setup can eliminate this. Also, REAL tingles use NIACIN to cause a niacin flush which is exactly what the body is doing when it turns red from the sun. So it is "induced erythema" (sun burn). Kinda like pulling the fire alarm before the fire sets it off and it's too late.

You use "it's a simulated skin burn" in your sales pitch? I think you should choose better words that don't include the word "burn"

My information is not a sales pitch. It is education for salon owners and employees to understand why tanner desire tingle products.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: what is the meaning of ''tingle''? Really. Well how would you explain it in SIMPLE terms that ANY client can understand. This works well for my business and people instantly understand what it does. So no, I will not choose better words because most people dont understand what a niacin flush is, etc. Besides, what would you describe what tingle feels like? EVERYONE say it feels "like" a sunburn and unfortunately most people know exactly what that feels like. They can relate without a half-hour speech about the scientific dynamics of it.
