Hmm.... never had this problem but had been using the same detergent for years. Are the towels white?

unity, do you do sunless? I do and I have all white towels, never a stain yet with the oxyclean

I use bleach containing detergent, but there are still stains.
I use white towels. No sunless unit, yet! :-)
Thanks for responding...all of you.

Well we use light blue towels, I think that helps a lot. We use white to clean the beds and these are often disposed of (converted to rags) often.

Re: ~~Best way to launder towels/get out bronzer stains?~~

For my two cents, as a consumer not an owner, I find that this little blend helps a ton with stains and discoloration of bronzer.
1/4 cup regular DISH detergent
1/4 cup bleach
and recommended amount of laundry detergent

You don't want to do this all the time, but it helps with really stubborn stains. This also helps with greying color that some towels eventually get.

And before you wonder, yes I took my own towel when I tanned at someone else's salon. Welcome to Ghetto Western Nebraska!

Invest the $2700.00 in a nice small commercial front load washer. It'll last forever using it in a tanning salon and you can't beat the results. And yes, I do own a commercial laundromat next door to my tanning salon.... I've never seen a bronzer stain on any of my towels. Tide for washes, Downey for the rinse and the Snuggle dryer sheets... I'd swear some of my tanners come in just to smell the towels!

We use black for our spray tan - don't mix w/white towels or you soon have gray.

All we have ever used is bleach and detergent. We do use the soak cycle on them all.
