So I wasn't at the salon today and I called to check in and my employee told me that a customer had been in to tan tonight and wanted to know if we could open the salon up early for just her this saturday at 7:30 am because she is getting married on saturday and wants to tan first thing in the morning so she can shower and get ready etc... we don't open till 8:00 a.m. on saturdays ...I think that is very nervey to ask personallly I know its a big day- but seriously? I have to call her back tomorrow with a response...and I am helping my mother and law move on sat and won't be in the area to do it myself and I am all about great customer service, but I think there has to be a line drawn on somethings....feedback would be great if anyone else has dealt with this time of request or how to properly handle it- maybe I am crazy and don't see it in the right business prespective?

I see nothing wrong with it she's getting married. I had the Zoo open early last week so I could see relatives and acquaintances.

it is a bit much of her to ask, but its also only a 1/2 hour early. if a employee is willing to do it then why not.

what type of client is she a repeat loyal one or taning just for wedding then c ya around.

i would have recommended she DONT tan on her wedding day. To big of a day to take a chance on a burn, bronzer streak,etc.

If she tanned properly and started early enough she probably wont be getting any darker with 1 visit.

you could always say no BUT i will give you a FREE upgrade Friday night to give you a bit of a boost.

I would do it in a heartbeat. For an extra 1/2 an hour you're generating loads of goodwill. And don't forget, a happy customer will tell 1 person, but an UNHAPPY customer will tell 10 (more than that with the interwebs!!).

BTW, the people I'm buying the salon from kept it closed several months this year but still went and opened it a couple of times a week for ONE year round tanner :)

She has already made it very clear that she is only tanning for her wedding and then she is done and doesn't want to spend the money anymore/ which may change who knows. She isn't the most friendly person and always ask if she can get a deal on her month ultd. which I have done for her once and did not have too.

Also she did start tannning for wedding in mid April so I really don't think 1 more day is going to make a difference either and I really like the idea of upgrading her to our best bed for free friday night!!!

I would do it without hesitation. Once she's tan and see how's much better she looks and feels she'll want to continue. :)

I would open early for her. It is not that big of a deal. Make her feel special on her wedding day.

I would definitely open early for her. She is getting married. You open at 8am anyway so what is a half hour early.

I am usually here an hour early and my girls if they open are here at least 30 min early i would probably would
