Question what would you do? with a 89 year old tanner

First he came in using Coppertone dry oil spray and I let it slide until it started to ruin my acrylic, so i told him he could not use it..he stopped using it and then left to Canada for a month.
He came back with another bottle saying it is not spray oil it's a cream..
I told him you cannot use this it is not for indoor tanning!! He is an ex lawyer he thinks he knows everything! He then went into the bed and starts coughing to mask the spray of the lotion...Come ON.
I told him when he came out..you cannot use that lotion. I will refund you the money for the rest of the month. He says.. I will not use it again its fine. I offer to buy him a spray indoor tanning lotion he says NO it's not necessary he can tan without a lotion.
Mind you I am trying to be nice because he can hardly hear and can't see to well. I don't know how he is still driving! I am doing the best I can to be nice and then..He comes in today..And He turn his bed on and then because he can't hear the spray when he uses it ..he thinks I can't ..Well I can! I wanted to shut his bed off and ask him to leave but I don't have the balls to be that tough with such an older man. I have signs up that state you cannot use outside lotions and He probably cant read them. I told my husband that I am just going to call him when he expires on the 9th and tell him that since he was unable to follow our tanning guidelines that we are not going to allow him to come back and renew his package.
Do you think that doing that is ok? Or should I ask him to leave now..I am sick of him! I know this is my problem, I just thought maybe someone might have a nice way of going about it. I dont know why i feel the need to be so nice. THANK YOU

Darn, I wish I bookmarked a certain thread on here! It was all about a customer using mineral products!

What I have done is print a copy of that entire thread for THIER reading after I briefly explain to them that is damages the acrylic. I then print out an updated release form which contain the $250 replacement fee cost for using products unauthorized for indoor use.

I dont care how old they are! I treat everyone the same.

By the way, I have yet to enforce the $250 penalty, its more of a scare tactic. Usually I can clean the acrylics enough that little damage is done. :)

Don't you just love those snowbirds!!

I would tell him that you feel like he is disrespecting you and if he cannot follow your guidelines, he can't come back. Look sad too. Give him a free sample of something and see if he likes it better. I have a problem with being "abrupt" but sometimes that is what they need. He thinks hes being sneaky!!

If you have anything else besides carpet spray oils are hazardous to your employees and anybody else that might walk into that room unknowingly.
