(FDA reports to Congress, no one in Congress is a tanning guy, Dan is a tanning guy = a chance to talk to the FDA directly = smart for Salon Owners. Dan would talk to other Congressman = a tanning guy talks directly to other Congressman = also good for Salon Owners).

The incumbent is a good guy from what I hear. He is not a Tanning Guy, therefore he will not reprsent your/our interests with the FDA = not good for Tanning Guys!

I too believe in the sanctity of public service and knowing Dan for almost seven years feel that he deserves your and all Tanning Industry Owners support!

Lastly, I don't feel "shameful" for my solicitation at all. This is a unique moment for our Industry and also for the online Boards. I have sent money, spent time soliciting more money and asked that each Tanning Person do what they can to get the word out. Plan to continue to do so right up until election night.

I also hope this thread stays more front page, clearly in this election season, it is important that who we elect gets lots and lots of scrutiny.

I totally disagree, this guy will use this industry to get elected, then will forget about everyone who helped him get there.

He will look out for "his" best interest, not ours. His agenda will be to move further up the political ladder as all politicians do.

It will be impossible for him to get anything done related to the industry seeing he has such a big stake in it.

I wouldn't contribute a wooden nickel to his campaign.

You have lost your mind. It could be ignorance but I don't think so. You can't quit taking your meds when you start feeling better.

Eileen, you can't be an idealist and a conservative at the same time - it's like matter and antimatter, or oil and water, or white meat and red wine. Politics, and politicians in general, IMHO, quit being about "public service" a long, long time ago, in a Virginia far away.

Then you,Eileen and Max can dump your life savings into his campaign.I know better and when he doesn't do anything to benefit this industry you will dam him to h*ll. I will laugh and rib you to death.

Do you seriously think he will get anything done,C'mon how much support is he going to get "looking out for his best interest".

Yea, "hey guys, you should vote this way so my tanning salon franchise will grow and prosper." Or "hey,we should rethink this legislation since it will hurt my tanning salon franchise"

Im sure he will get do alot for this industry..NOT!

I swear some of you people have less than half a brain.

Heres another scenario...A congressman that had a family member die from skin cancer proposes a new law banning indoor tanning, since he believes the death of his family member was due to over exposure in tanning beds.

How far do you think he would get with knowing he has a vendetta/agenda against the tanning industry?

Re: Dan Humiston Announces Run For U.S. Congress in 27th Congressional District

megatanman we probably shouldn't even have this conversation if you think $50 is my lifes savings. lol ;)

i've met dan before and i've read about his campaign. i have no problem supporting him. as far as someone getting skin cancer john mccain already has it and doesn't visit tanning salons.

Thats a great example Eileen,Do you think it would be fair for John Mccain to ban indoor tanning? How much sand do you think his campaign against indoor tanning would hold knowing he's never even vistied one.
