Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Dan Humiston Announces Run For U.S. Congress in 27th Congressional District Dear Tantalk.com Supporters: I plan to schedule the interview for some time after Labor Day. Dan's campaign staff is aware of all of these questions. I will make sure that he addresses those that are clearly relevant to Tanning Salon Owners! I do know the issues facing the people of Buffalo, NY. Those issues are Jobs, Jobs, and Jobs! What America is going through right now, Buffalo has been going through for almost 35 years. There was a slight bump with free trade, but overall, there economy is aging and good jobs are hard to come by. Dan has been a successful businessman in the Buffalo Area for 23 years. He understands the need for job growth, good job growth. With good jobs, comes most other things. Regarding the border, does it really matter to you where he stands on that, he is a Tanning Guy, you are a Tanning Guy -- that is what this is about! How many times he has been married, does this impact Tanning? The answer is once. Two kids, both great kids -- I know them for almost seven years. Great parents too! Loyal workers who have been with him since I first new him. Suppliers that trust him and rely on his team. He knows my parents too, helped my nephew get started with a great training job........ I think he will clearly address the needs of the small businessman and our Industry. All of his net worth is tied up in this business. Belvy - how big was your pledge? $20 for 20 questions.....or? Max

Rep Power: 54 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Dan Humiston Announces Run For U.S. Congress in 27th Congressional District Oh, here we ago again with the 'ole "And just how much money did you donate, Belvy?" thing. I haven't donated anything, and I seriously doubt that will ever donate to the campaign of a Buffalo businessman trying to get into politics. There was only one question on that list that depending on "his" answer might've inspired me to throw him a $20. Max, and Dan, believe me, I mean this with all due respect when I say that I think it is ridculous for you to expect anybody here to believe that donating money to Dan's campaign is going to help the plight of the indoor tanning industry one iota. I have no reason to doubt that once Dan wins his office he'll fight tooth and nail to turn congress and The Establishment around when it comes to UV exposure and related legislation. Who is he running against, by the way? What are their beliefs? Do they tan? Would they not also fight for the greater Buffalo area salon owners as well, in addition to the salon owners all over this great nation? If DAn only wants to talk about his plans to help the industry on the boards, that's fine. I completely understand. But it's going to take a **** of lot more than "Hey! Support the East Coast tanning candidate!!!" slogan to get me to buy the stamp it would take to mail him the penny I found on the bus tonight. Silly me, but, even in this cartoon day and age we live in, I still take the notion of public "service" seriously, and profoundly. Personally, and no offense to either of you, or any of those that have donated to his campaign, I find this to be a shameful solicitation! It's just like the whole "Join the ITA! It's only $100 per month!", or year, or whatever it is, and they'll help "you". When the glaring facts are this "problem" for the indoor tanning industry is more monstrous and complex than anybody can imagine. I don't mean that to be "sensationalist", or effect for drama. Anyway, I digress, as ususal. Sorry, Max, can't support your man on this. Not without some serious answers to what you alluded to as non-relevant questions. It's not that "I" really care ... I just hated seeing a potentially great thread fade to the second and third pages of popularity to the archives. Best of luck to you both in your endeavours. -Belvy

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Re: Dan Humiston Announces Run For U.S. Congress in 27th Congressional District Belvy "Brother": If you truely believe what you have posted in paragraph 1, then you should never donate to Dan or any Candidate with experience in Industry. I am watching Boone Pickens on CNBC this morning, would it not be good to have him in Congress as an energy guy? I sure think so and even though he would run in Texas, you can't have enough smart men and women in Congress. I would donate to his campaign. Smart Energy Guys in Congress = good for all of us, not just tanning guys! Dan is a Tanning Guy and that has been my focus. I respectfully disagree with you that all Owners and Suppliers would "not benefit one iota" by having one of our own in Congress. Having one of "our own" would produce many benefits, please read some of my earlier posts. (FDA reports to Congress, no one in Congress is a tanning guy, Dan is a tanning guy = a chance to talk to the FDA directly = smart for Salon Owners. Dan would talk to other Congressman = a tanning guy talks directly to other Congressman = also good for Salon Owners). The incumbent is a good guy from what I hear. He is not a Tanning Guy, therefore he will not reprsent your/our interests with the FDA = not good for Tanning Guys! I too believe in the sanctity of public service and knowing Dan for almost seven years feel that he deserves your and all Tanning Industry Owners support! Lastly, I don't feel "shameful" for my solicitation at all. This is a unique moment for our Industry and also for the online Boards. I have sent money, spent time soliciting more money and asked that each Tanning Person do what they can to get the word out. Plan to continue to do so right up until election night. I also hope this thread stays more front page, clearly in this election season, it is important that who we elect gets lots and lots of scrutiny. Best to you Belvy! Max
