Cool very pale skin- needs a healthy tan

Hey everyone, I have a slight problem. I am going to Daytona for Spring Break in March. I am very pale and it is really hard for me to tan. I was wondering if i went spray tanning then went tanning a few times before i went if that would help me achieve a tan, and not burn. If not..please fill me in on how i can do so. thanks :) Laura

Spray tan is a joke. It does nothing in terms of keeping you from burning.

Just start out slow and NOW in the tanning bed. It will take about 30days to get a decent base tan if you are starting out from pale.

Get a 2month deal somewhere NICE (low baller places will only "burn" ya in the wallet and ***) and start out slow and steady.

Get a decent tanning lotion that's not filled with crazy bronzers. Doesn't have to be $100 but make sure you get it from the salon cause they are designed to work with your skin and the salon can help you with that.

Just don't wait till the week before or you'll be the goof that got sprayed and now looks orange in Daytona!

ORANGE!!! ha ha!

You don't want to be that person.

Re: very pale skin- needs a healthy tan

Hi Laura!

Well first you must know a spray tan is cosmetic, there is no protection. You have enough time til March to get a base tan. Plan to go three times a week and start out slow. Going a "few" times will not do, you should get in at least 12 sessions. Most people dont even see a color change until thier 4th or 5th session.

Find a salon now and get tanning! You can finish it off with a spray tan to polish off the look. Just wear sunscreen and MORE importantly, apply it often not once once you are in Daytona.

Tanning tip to avid the Bermuda Triangle (the tail bone spot and shoulder blade spots), when you tan flip on your stomach for a while. Not needed the first few times, but as you darken you will need to flip for about 5 minutes to get an even tan.

Hi

Where are you located.??!! I'm pretty sure if you list your state many salon owners on this site will personally meet and assist you plus give you a free tan!
Make sure you take it slow as stated and choose a bronzing bed with vhr lamps to keep your tan brown! After you get a base tan, doing a spray tan will get you a nicer darker color too so you look awesum on your trip....
