Re: February Is Vitamin D Deficiency Month

This is news to me that the FDA is permitting us to promote tanning as a health benefit....as much as I would love to do this I don't put it in print although I never stop talking about it (freedom of speech). :) Can someone set me straight if I'm wrong... I want to be wrong! :)

Re: February Is Vitamin D Deficiency Month

You can promote the fact that tanning is a great source of vitamin D, then you can promote what vitamin D does for you. You just cant directly link a benefit of tanning as a reult of VD by leaving VD out of the equasion. So its all in the wording. I am not sure how other stares are, but im my state I could easily get away with promoting direct bennefits of tanning. Its pretty loose here.

Re: February Is Vitamin D Deficiency Month

All the information we post in our rooms is backed by data and research in print that is in our waiting area. You can not say that "Tanning gives you vitamin D and vitamin D will cure". You can say, research has shown that vitamin D will etc. Do any of you display the "real" magazine in your waiting areas and have them available for customers? It's a great way to get the information in their hands. Recently we put a sign in the rooms that said the following followed with a picture of a forest. " Could this forest live without uv exposure from the sun? Can you? You be the judge. Google vitamin D and the sun and you might be surprised. This created quite a stir with our customers. I can not begin to tell you how many people made comments to us and thanked us for providing this information. I now have customers forwarding information to me about Vitamin D, the sun and your health. Please note, our sales have increased every month for the last 4 years.
