Rep Power: 22 | HOW"S EVERYONES 2008 DOIN' ? I just checked my 2008 ytd sales compared to 2007. Down 50%. Is anyone else feeling like it's maybe a good time to throw in the towel. Last years numbers were down 20%, but one looks forward to maybe a better next year. Well, it ain't gonna be. At least, my bad year in 2007 didn't start until February. I didn't think it could be this bad at the start of this, only my 3rd year. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: HOW"S EVERYONES 2008 DOIN' ? We are doing "ok" compared to 2005... Compared to last year, we are down 17%. We were down more, but there is a sudden momentum building up fast. Our lotion sales are double that of last year, I attribute that to our new Special Order program. Tough times :(

Rep Power: 19 | Re: HOW"S EVERYONES 2008 DOIN' ? Its only 16 days into the new year! You can't let this short amount of time predict what the rest of the year will be like. Keep a positive outlook! It could be a number of factors why sales are down the past 16 days. It could be from something as small as weather. Think of it like "what can I do to make it better than last year". Don't throw in the towel just yet! If in March its still down...throw in the towel! ;) |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: HOW"S EVERYONES 2008 DOIN' ? Some of my problem is the fact that no fewer than three 24 hour fitness centers have opened in the last 6 months. All have tanning beds and offer the convience of tanning all in one place. I know their equipment and upkeep sucks, but it's taking a big bite from my customer base of mostly college students. The kids aren't buying packages anymore (no money) and very few single sessions. My medium level used to be my biggest and best seller. Now, the customers that used to buy my vhr (ultra) are buying my base beds. It's not good here in Packer land. GO PACKERS!!!! |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: HOW"S EVERYONES 2008 DOIN' ? No expansions here. Downsizing and trying to survive. The first area that we will address is payroll. My wife, who works another full time job, is going to be covering the night shift and I will continue to cover the day shift and we both will work weekends. We can't do anything about our utility costs now because of the very cold weather we've had this winter. Because our business has been down so much, we don't have the beds running as much and thus our heating costs are more. It costs more to heat then run the beds. Hello "unity". I don't know what conference you're referring to. I must be not in the selling area.l Last edited by parrot head; 01-17-2008 at 08:29 AM. Reason: adds |
