Wink making the most from the beds I've got

I could use some feed back. Like most owner's, I can't afford to add the equipment that I need to increase my odds at a profit so I need to make the very most from this re-lamping. Although there are other salons around, we are known for giving customers a natural color with no orange tint therefore any change in our lamps is scary!! I have a Heartland 2M stand up that is known around town as "great" & is lamped with 46 Cosmolux VHR 180's. Many customers choose only to tan in the stand-up so I'm not sure if it's better to stay with the VHR180 or change to the 9K90's. I'm concerned about their color if they won't jump in a bed every once in a while to get the B that already comes with the VHR's. I have only 3 beds all Ovation 134/3's. Currently lamped at Cosmolux VLR100's. I'm thinking of changing 2 of the 3 beds to 100w 9K90's for the browning and the 3rd to the VLR-TT to offer the kick up the B. I've heard that the 9K90's will give the best/natural color if you get some B every other or 3rd tan. Is this anyone's experience? I have many newer customers from a salon that just closed who loved the ergoline classic 600 & the ergoline preformance 240/the laydown stand-up which they were tanning on. I can't go there financially & I am just hoping to "kick-it up" some to keep the customers interested & happy with their color. Would apprieciate your thoughts on rotating customers on & off the 9K90's for the best color.

I think the cosmolux lamps that came with the beds will provide the most consistent performance without burning. We have genesis beds 120 watts and they tan better than the Heartland beds up the street. However, the heartland beds do not burn customers and as you note they provide a brown tan. The Genesis lamps to provide a bronze or slightly orange tinge. You may be able to purchase the used beds cheaper than what you think. Used 240 can be had for $4000 - $5000 and they are a high end tanning bed even without the facials. good luck PatParadise, (IMWW)

can the cosmolux VHR, and DO NOT get 9k90's. Use Heraus Magic Sun 20/180's. They absolutely kick ***. Your customers will NOT like the 9k90's because they love the UVB. John Hayes @ URI.... Call Him. I also have the 2M, and SunDazzlers. All I use is those Heraus, my customers LOVE THEM.... Same thing in the VLR.... Use the Heraus 20/100R's in that. You'll be pleasently surprised.

Re: making the most from the beds I've got

"...because they love the UVB"

Really its because they are uneducated. But this is the root of my predicament right now. I am going to re-lamp early.

So do I go with "high" UVB that gives them that "owwww, ahhh, look how pink/red I got I am gonna get great color!"

Or do I go with low UVB which means higher UVA. But then you get "I got nothing". However their tan is deeper, looks better and lasts a lot longer - not to mention they get tan faster, jut no instant gratification.

Or I am totally wrong on how this works! My understanding is that UVB burns and when you add more UVB two things happen. Less UVA and quicker polarization of the acrylics.
