Rep Power: 0 | Crazy Naked Man in Salon My employee was working by herself in the salon last night and a man came out of no where and asked to try out one of our beds, it looked like he had walked there. My employee tried to get him to fill out a client card but the guy really didnt want to give out his address and phone number and made a big deal about it so my employee just had him complete the questionaire and sign the card without the other information. She asked him if he had his goggles and he said he had them in his pocket. For some reason the bed she put him in wouldnt turn on so she asked him to cover up and he said he was dressed so she went into the room and leaned inside the bed to make sure the Start button was pushed in and the guy came out from behind the door completely naked with his package right in front of my employees face! She freaked out and left the room, the bed still wouldnt start so she just told him to get dressed and go into the next bed. We have a mirror that reflects down the hallway so we can see people walking down the hall and apparantly he was walking back and forth from both rooms completely naked. There was no one else in the salon at the time except for this crazy guy and my employee. He even opened the door again and told her he forgot his goggles and asked her to bring him a loaner pair, she just tossed it over the wall into his room. Fortunately by the time he left there were 4 other people in the salon so nothing happened after that. I am a new salon owner and have no idea what I can do about this. Plus I didnt hear about the incident until this morning. Does this kind of thing happen alot?? What can you do when it happens? I dont even think the name he gave us was his real name. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Crazy Naked Man in Salon You have no idea what you have gotten yourself into, my friend! lol People are WEIRD. Prepare yourself. You have the right to refuse service to anyone. I personally would've refused to tan him unless he filled out the client card correctly and completely and showed me his eyewear. I tell my employees that if they feel that something is a little off about a situation/customer and genuinely feel unsafe, they can ask that person to leave or call the security that we have around the shopping plaza. And they can always call me for ANYTHING. Same goes if a customer is swearing/calling employees names or making a scene, refusing to show eyewear, show ID/fill out release form etc--they are allowed to ask them to leave. I also have a list of emercency phone numbers in a binder near the front desk. And a panic button that alerts the police, if need be. We have cameras in plain view that seem to deter a lot of things that could turn into issues. If things like that start happening too often, you may want to consider doubling up employees during night shifts. But, most importantly, if my employees are not sure about anything or feel un-easy they need to call me!

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Crazy Naked Man in Salon Not normal? How so? If we DONT have a scary naked man running around our place AT LEAST once a week, then we get scared! lol Ya, there are some weird things, such as: 1. Butt rust - not weird, but gross. Fortunately I have not run across any, but have seen it reported here! lol 2. Peeing in trash cans. Well, girls are know to not be able to hold it well. Take then from near freezing temps outside and put them in a warm vibrating bed. Better the can than the floor I say! LOL 3. Certain smells you can not locate until you take the bed access panel off a month or two later... nuff said! 4. Moaning sounds when you know there is only one guy in the entire salon tanning..... I generally have to wait a while before I will clean that bed.... with gloves... and extra towels... and face mask.... 5. That 70 year old guy... ya, you know the one.... |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Crazy Naked Man in Salon I just talked to my employee about it, she is very shaken up over the incident and cant get the image out of her head. She said she checked the room after he had left and he unplugged the bed from the outlet which is why it wouldnt turn on. Has anyone called the police to help with incidents like this? Do they respond to those calls pretty quickly? |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Crazy Naked Man in Salon Invest in a panic button under the front counter that only employees can access. It calls the police and they are literally there in 2 minutes. I'm telling you that there are a lot of weirdos out there! You need to have a meeting with all your employees and tell them that it is OK TO REFUSE SERVICE TO SOMEONE THAT IS OUT OF LINE OR MAKES THEM FEEL UNEASY & TO CALL YOU AND/OR THE POLICE IF STUFF LIKE THAT HAPPENS. If you are in a shopping plaza area with security, call them and ask that they check on your girls towards the end of the night or even escort them to their cars.

Another option you could consider is if you have an alarm system, install a panic button for emergencies and they also have portable panic buttons that you wear around your neck and is a remote for alarm! It may seem a little over the top to go that route but I dont know your area and if you have girls working alone at night, it could be something to consider. |

Rep Power: 18 | Re: Crazy Naked Man in Salon Police?? I had a couple of degenerate's hanging around my car, they knew I owned it and would most likely be leaving w/a sizeable amount of cash. I called 911 gave a description, told them I was a business owner leaving with cash, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. I left with a hammer in my bucket that I use to move money descretely, I am so glad this liberal city doesn't allow guns. I could have walked out w/conifidence of at least being equal, but nooooo. They constantly blow the call the police we'll protect you horn. Do not count on it, they are there to fill out the paper work after the incident. Matbe someday Chicago and the rest of the idiot liberal cities will wake up, and allow concealed carry, at least for business owners. Unitl then I'd rather be judged by twelve then carried by six. |
