Rep Power: 17 | LOTION SCARED Hi all, with all the latest news about AG, SB and DS joining forces, cutting distributors and raising salon costs on lotions, with quality on the down slope, what is your strategies on what to carry. In my area $50 bucks is about max for most customers, usually 30-40. I have never been a fan of SB or AG and do not carry those lines. DS has been my best seller for years, but I do not see the results from their products as in the past. Recommend me some lines to try before the season gets going. I am going to work on getting DS out of my customers heads because I do not intend to pay ridiculous prices for it. My customers think it is "cute" to order off the internet and also shop and the beauty supply. I know I am going to cut my stock by half this year so I dont get stuck marking it all down in june and july to get rid of it. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: LOTION SCARED my rep told me that after this upcoming season, he will not be carrying DS anymore, mainly because of quality decline (and I do agree), I just want quality products that my customers will be happy with that isnt $100 dollars a bottle. when it comes to that, Walmart and Sallys will ruin it for us all. I have used the expensive stuff, but not $100 impressed. I think the worst is when u sell them high end stuff and they are ready to rebuy, they tell u it was okay, but they wont spend that much again, they did not see the results they were expecting. I know I feel the same way about some products I carried this past season, mostly DS. |

Rep Power: 46 | Re: LOTION SCARED quality is the reason i choose Devoted. diversion is always going to be around in some form or another. unfortunatley you really cant base your decision on diversion anymore because its all diverted if you look hard enough. if it aint diverted its crap. demand creates diversion. u need to come up with a way to counter diversion in your salon. free tans with lotion discounts when bought with a tanning package pass on disty discounts PS any disty that isnt carrying DS due to quality is BS. Does that disty sell AG?

Rep Power: 28 | Re: LOTION SCARED Alot of distys will only see the AG giant as they are being pressured to do so. I am still carrying Cal Tan this year as the products are good and the name recognition is really good in the industry.

Rep Power: 17 | Re: LOTION SCARED no AG or SB. We are going to do some specials with free tanning. really though, I want some feed back on other brands that have good results. A lot of feed back I read is on DS, AG and SB and I want to cut back and try some new. I belive packaging has a lot to do with it too. especially for the younger crowd. What about TI, Fiesta, Satori. I like cal tan, but their good stuff is more than most of my customers are willing to pay. It seems like the more they pay, the longer the bottle lasts. I sold someone a bottle of Intrigue for $60 on sale and she has tanned for three months with a 10 oz bottle, and she tans a lot. I tried to tell her how much she should use, but u know how that goes. |

Rep Power: 46 | Re: LOTION SCARED this is the reason your disty is no longer carrying DS. AG bought DS A line i like is waheki Gold its made by Fiesta sun for TW Tan. its their private label i guess. the bottles look exactly like Fiestas Leather and lace and the New on Need 4 speed MSRP Prices range from $20-$34 I sell them at $25-45 easily
