They charged him 25k to set up his financing at a local bank, order portable tanning walls, order beds...basically be a general contractor. Then he had to buy all the stuff!!!! Anyway they ordered 6 Avalanche Beds for him. 44 lamps @ 200watts a piece...no facials. $16,000 each! I think he might have been slightly ripped off. I have never heard of these so I goggled...there is nothing!!! |

$25K is a pretty standard fee to set up a franchise. In theory - they hold your hand, give you the "keys" to being a successful operator, etc Hopefully there will continue to be more support and help for your friend from his franchise. I googled them and found nothing. What state are they located in? Franchises are required to have UFOC's on file and disclose their terms, expected costs, etc. If your friend doesn't have all of this, or feels this franchise is not holding up to their claims, he can contact the Attorney General or the FTC (fair trade commission) and file a complaint against the franchisor. | |
