Thieves...what to do? - tanTALK

2 College volleyball girls come in together & steal at least 4-5 samples everytime they come in. I know this because they are stupid enough to throw the samples in the room trash cans when they are done. They stole 6 samples of our private label lotion, so it's not like there is a chance they got it somewhere else. My inventory has been so screwed up & it is REALLY ******* me off. Girls called me last night & said they did it again. One of my employees even walked outside & glanced in their car to see a pile of samples in their front seat. What can I do or say? They are both EFT members & I don't really want to lose them as customers & I sure don't want them to take the rest of the volleyball team with them! HELP.

If they are stealing from you and they are eft customers it is probably costing you money to have them tan, I can't imagine you are in business to loose $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

You really need to say something to them. Thats one of the reasons I have my samples all hanging behind my front desk so that there is no way anyone can get back there. Maybe next time they are in you could just happen to comment about how the sample packettes just seem to disappear and see what they say.

Take a photo of the stuff in their car, then call the cops!

Where do you keep your samples ? In the tanning rooms ? Dont you have someone at the front when people walk in ? If not, at least put the samples behind the counter.

I have a sample display that stays on the counter. I think it helps sell them to have them displayed on the counter, so I really don't want to hide them just because of these 2 idiots.

It's mainly happened when both my girls are cleaning beds. There is normally someone up front but we have 20 beds & the front girls help out the bed cleaners when it's slow.

Fill sample cups with elmers glue and make sure that they can get their hands on those particular ones when they come in to steal.The downside is if they lay in the bed,you have to get that off your acrylic.

Is it a display that you can move elsewhere or have your employees keep a closer eye on the front desk when these girls come in?
