This may be a sensitive subject for some readers (God, I hope not), but what about these "record foreclosures" on mortgages we've been reading so much about? The business man in me says, "Gimme the money ****** or get the Hal out!". The economist in me says, "Don't put 'all' of these people on the street, things will get worse!". The socialist says, "Cut their payments down and extend the life of the loan, but this is their absolute last chance." IDK - what do all of you think about this?

I think Democrats control Congress and this is a consequence.

They want the White House too.... That would be devastating for the economy.

If Republicans keep the White House and control either the House of Representatives or the Senate, we will return to prosperity.

It's funny, the democrats seem to have control over everything yet when the Republicans were in power they got nothing done.

Seems to give a lot of credit to the power of the democrats...couldn't be due to all the republicans QUITTING for being so correct about our current situation in Iraq.

IMO very little of the blame falls on the mortgage companies. People nowadays are always spending money they don't have under the pretense that they "deserve" it. Did these people really think their adjstable rate mortgages were never going to adjust (go up)?

I am not willing to have my tax money used to subsidize any type of program that rewards people who got themselves into financial trouble.

what it boils down to, people try to keep up with the jones. The Jones have a cadillac the smith's have to top that with a lexus. The Jones have a million dollar house the jackasses have to buy a 2 million dollar house. This society has done it to themselves. Everyone is the blame. Not the dems or the repubs but everyone. It is so sad.
