$9.99 a month, that is crazy. If anyone does that you deserve what you get.

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

I say switch it around and bring in a stationary bike and say "free fitness membership" with tanning! Now that feels like a deal! After all, the people you might losing are having to actually pay for their workouts!

BLOW THEIR MINDS!

That's a great idea. I've got the room in my lower level to add some treadmills and bikes. I'm going to do it just to get their goat. My carpenter is here now.

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

I will have quality tanning equipment and cheap exercise equipment; just the reverse of them. They do it, why can't I?

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

No reason why you can't PH - just seems like a bit of a waste of space to me though. I think you'd probably make more money with a "healthy choice" buffet and smoothie bar than with actual exercise equipment. Most American's don't really want to "exercise" - they just wish they had the type of body that disciplined exercise regimens can produce. IMPO, commercial exercise equipment is a huger waste of money and credit than new tanning equipment is. hehe

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

I would think if you added exercise equipment you would need additional insurance for injuries etc.

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

Yea, I bet you're right and I would have to put in shower facilities and such. No thanks, I'll struggle to get by with the tanning salon. Picking up now--the college kids are swarming in. September, I love ya!!

Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness

I would inform my clients that no insurance company will provide tanning insurance for the unsupervised use of tanning beds by customers who can control the time on the bed or tan more than once a day. I would walk over to the health club owner and show them a copy of the tanning insurance policy and make them S___ in their pants. Our business insurance is almost $4,000 per year. Anyone who owns and operates a business without insurance and like giving a teenager without a license a corvette to drive and hope for the best.

Insurance companies do not give insurance to idiots I would not expect these businesses to last very long. I would advertise and make customers aware that insurance is important to protect their health and request their gym or health club provide proof of such insurance, Pat Paradise
