Uncomfortable - tanTALK

My son asked if his friend could stay over tonite. It's summer time. I said ok. Then his mom comes to the door to talk to me about it. I walk outside to introduce myself and the woman says, "oh, it's you" with a giant smile on her face. I'm like, yeah, it's me!

Not having a clue what she is talking about. She leans over, and says, "don't you know who I am?" I'm like, um, sorry, no. She was an old client from like, 3 or 4 years ago. She seemed surprised that I have a life outside the salon and then wanted to talk for like an HOUR.
I was so embarrassed that I had NO CLUE who she was. Not an iota. She even went as far as pointing at my son Colin and saying, "this is YOUR son?" Um, YEAH... why is that so hard to believe. I think she expected for me to live in a nice house. lol... um, nope on that one. I put it all back into *the bottle* I mean the salon.
hahahahhahhahhaha....

Been there too Brandy....a few years ago we hired someone to replace the roof on our house. It just so happen to be a clients boyfriend....anyways she came to help him clean up the yard when he was done and of course she sees me. No big deal until she comes in the salon next and says to me, "wow, I thought you would have a nicer house!" LOL! Yeah right, I own a salon in a town full of price shoppers! People are stupid....brush it off girl!

Oh, I don't care. lol. I am who I am. It just struck me as funny. I felt uncomfortable that I didn't know who she was.

I just had that happen to me too! One of my clients son's died and i went to the funeral and I was standing in line waiting to pay my respects and this lady in front of me started talking to me and she knew my name. She was all like... oh I haven't seen you in so long how are you doing?? and I had no clue who she was. I still don't know but I was way too embarassed to ask!! I just played along like i did!! :)

I totally hate it when that happens. But now I just ask. I used to let it pass, but I get too confused and I would always just wonder. So now I ask. Sad eh... and I'm only 35.
