Has anybody held a bikini contest with other business, like a bar? If so, how did it work?

For us, a Cinco de Mayo Bikini Contest hit like a belly flop off the high board.

Of course, MD is not FL, TX or CA. (Case on point: Miss Maryland, Brittnay Lietz.)

It depends on what you think is a success. I have done many of them. I get mentioned on the radio and the club where it is taking place. I give away 10 visits and many times the winning contestant lives some where else. I think the more times you business name is said the better.

True. I guess if you can get some cheap publicity out of it, it could be worth it. When I sponsored the ones I did, we sold swimwear and donated some suits to be worn as well as gave away some sessions. Most of the free sessions never came in and I didn't sell any swimwear. It is the type of thing that requires much effort for a little return unless you are going to do like top250 said. If you can just donate some sessions and get a mention in the ads, go for it.

We have done beach parties with a local pub during JASON and raffle off a nice gift basket with pkg, lotion, moist., etc and also a few coupons for free visits...HE had a good turnout, I didn't get much from it really other than exposure
