Rep Power: 0 | Interesting Problem - Solution? A friend of a friend was the person who convinced me to go into the airbrush tanning industry, after I had used an HVLP system for about six months that I had purchased from her for personal use for around $800.00. She has been providing me with solution , but I have no idea what type of solution it is, and I cannot seem to get a straight answer out of her. I know that she is marking it up, which is understandable that she wants to make a profit; the problem is that she is not 100% reliable as far as how quickly she gets the solution to me, which is not acceptable as I am trying to run a business. And I still have not received invoices for any of my orders, although my credit card has been charged multiple times. Obviously, this makes me a bit uncomfortable. I absolutely love the result of the solution and am very reluctant to switch to a different kind, but I am struggling a little with the customer service/reliability aspect of my supplier. So my question is... do you think there's any way I can figure out what type of solution she has been selling me? It is slightly floral smelling (pleasant, and I am very sensitive to fragrance), it is not orange at all (it maybe even has a slightly pinkish undertone), and it looks natural on pretty much everyone I spray. If I had to guess, I would say it is a 10% solution , but I don't even know this for sure. It is slightly sticky, but nothing unbearable. The solution containers are completely unmarked, so there are no clues there. She does provide bronzer drops as well, also unmarked. I know this isn't much to go from, considering that there are about a million solutions on the market, but if anybody has any thoughts on how I could figure out what solution this is, I would really appreciate it. I really do not enjoy feeling this ignorant about what I am using in my own business, although she has at least provided an MSDS so I know the ingredients, etc. Thanks for your help! |

It's so helpful to have people to bounce ideas off of. I will try to post a picture of my solution tomorrow; maybe that will help. Also, I will tell my supplier that I need to have the bottles marked clearly for insurance purposes, and then hopefully I can get her to tell me what this stuff is. I think I might start shopping for a new supplier anyway; I'm not sure I want to give her any more money even if she does tell me what solution I'm using. Do any of these solution companies offer free samples or smaller sizes to test them out before investing a lot of money? |
