Rep Power: 0 | scared i might never be able to tan hi im new and im glad i could find a place to talk bout tanning. so hello everyone. but i have a question. i have fair skin and i am strawberry blonde. i go to the tanning bed and have been going for a few weeks. i am darker than i was according to the playboy bunny on my stomach....but i get pink too. i dont burn or peel or hurt. i just turn pink. its not a sunburn i dont believe. but im scared i may never get even the slightest base tan. does anyone have any suggestions on why im pink or any words of encouragement? i will take watever i can get. and self tanners do not work for me becuz they come off in the water everytime i go swimming. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: scared i might never be able to tan I i know this will sound odd but are you tanning in the base beds. The higher wattage beds will deliver a more bronze look. You will probably be less likely to get pink. Neon is right - lotion and slow. Do you have to be dark? No you may never be "dark". If you can get some color and you are happy with it welll then that is great. You dont need to over do it. Couple of times a week sometimes maybe three times - that is all you need. |

Rep Power: 28 | Re: scared i might never be able to tan how do you explain the great color that i am getting in the base beds? should i be doing the level 2 and only going for 5 minutes? i have always heard what you said about the higher wattage beds... however we have had much success with getting seriously pale people tan by starting them in our level ones and starting with 5 minutes on a minimal schedule. their tans seem to last longer that way as well. |
