Rep Power: 21 | What Welcome Wagon? At the risk of being banned or losing all my points, there is an issue I think that needs addressed, so I'm calling it out. I personally like and enjoy this site, along with most of it's members, and find it very informative for the most part. However, the one thing I do notice, is the treatment of some of the newer members. I realize we all joke around and poke fun with each other, all in fun, but there are times when there are serious questions being asked and the reply is a smartass answer. If you read a thread and don't find it interesting or worth replying to, then don't! If you don't want to answer the question, then don't! You will lose more members by negative responses, to those "other sites", and I for one do not want to see that happen. We should work together and help those who ask. Nothing wrong with good debates, but they can be done without pushing members away or being a smartass about it. Some of us, who have been raised with good ole' fashion ethics, remember being told to treat others as you would like to be treated. Let's keep this in mind when responding to someone who is being serious. Thanks (ducking from the veggies now)

What makes you think you would get banned for expressing your opinion You are right and we all know it I am as guilty as the next high jacking threads or becoming a smart *** and for that I apologize Will I stop having fun absolutely not Sometimes I think people will just respond somehow just to keep the thread alive until the right person can respond IMO

Rep Power: 43 | Re: What Welcome Wagon? I'm also guilty of hijacking threads and posting 'off subject'. But I do think you have a very valid point when it comes to newer members and their treatment. Being a fairly newby myself, I can understand that it may be scary to post, when you know you can get some really horrific answers at your expense. Maybe we should just make fun of the 'older' members and treat the new members seriously, as they deserve. Come out of hiding McGuffy!

Rep Power: 68 | Re: What Welcome Wagon? I think you're all right. But you know, after three or four posts answering the person's questions, there's nothing wrong with letting loose. I haven't really seen where anybody was being made fun of - the situation in general maybe, or something else, but usually not the person. If this is in regards to the Dog, he bit the "man" last night, went after him personally without any real provocation IMO. But Guffy's right - it is important that we all remember that there are real people on the other end of the posts with their own unique ways of perceiving the written word, so to speak.
