This is our first year in this business, opened the first store in October last year, second one is May this year. Rough summer for sure. I have seen more salons change hands over the last few months unreal. So here is the question when does it start to pick up again and how long does it last, help, just hoping it will happen soon, keep putting money in, and it's still terrible. I am asking the pros, thanks guys. The way I look at it is, it has to get better, right?

Florida season isn't noticeably different than the rest of the country.

Fall is slowest. Spring is busiest.

Opening two salons 6 months apart is very tough. It isn't unusual for a salon to take until it's 3rd season to start showing a profit. Doing two of those at once is tough! Especially now, as the industry has just suffered through the worst two years in the past decade. Everyone's breath is held -- is this going to be the worst THREE years, or will this year turn around??

As a salon owner, all you can do is hit your market HARD! Keep your expenses to the bare minimum, and look for ways to build clientele and sales inexpensively. Referral programs, cross-marketing with other businesses, etc.
