Rep Power: 0 | tanning income ? im planning on opening a salon end of Nov. , my question is im paying for all my equipment (NEW) 7-8 units, and buildout in Cash...i want no loans or bills going into this business. just rent, electric, etc..my rent my 1st yr is $1300, then goes up $100 every year for a 5 yr lease. her is my concern...it seems like most people in the tanning industry that have salons, have a Full time job and then they have a manager run there salon. IS this because there making NO profit or income to run there salon? and paying off there loans.? i have talked with people that own salons, they think that since im paying for all my equipment and buildout with cash that i should take a pay check home right away since i have no LOANS to pay off. AND YES , as long as i have a good client base. My salon is in a Mall area anchored by GOLDS GYM a nutrition store, strawberry records, huge food store, TGI Fridays, dry cleaners, nail salon, hair salon, and a beauty supply store and TJ max and Home goods. i have only one other tan salon in town but people complain there prices are too high... so basically im asking , if paying cash for everything with no loans will make a more profitable business and see a cash flow. most people i hear about are hoping to break even within 2 yrs of opening to pay for everything. -whit1 |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: tanning income ? 12 years ago, I opened my first salon with all cash. I had only operating expenses. I almost lost everything including my home the first off season. My rent was higher, but what's the difference when you have 5 customers and make $8.00 a day? Make sure you have plenty of working capital. |
