Rep Power: 103 | Bill Cosby YOU HAVE TO ADMIRE HIM Looks like New Orleans is waking people up. Cosby is shaking their bed again. "We Can't Blame White People" by BILL COSBY "They're standing on the corner and they can't speak English. I can't even talk the way these people talk: Why you ain't, Where you is, What he drive, Where he stay, Where he work, Who you be... And I blamed the kid until I heard the mother talk. And then I heard the father talk. Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth. In fact you will never get any kind of job making a decent living. People marched and were hit in the face with rocks to get an education, and now we've got these knuckleheads walking around. The lower economic people are not holding up their end in this deal. These people are not parenting. They are buying things for kids. $500 sneakers for what? And they won't spend $200 for Hooked on Phonics. I am talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was 2? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18 and how come you didn't know that he had a pistol? And where is the father? Or who is his father? People putting their clothes on backward: isn't that a sign of something gone wrong? People with their hats on backward, pants down around the crack, isn't that a sign of something? Or are you waiting for Jesus to pull his pants up? Isn't it a sign of something when she has her dress all the way up and got all type of needles [piercing] going through her body? What part of Africa did this come from? We are not Africans. Those people are not Africans; they don't know a thing about Africa. With names like Shaniqua, Taliqua and Mohammed and all of that crap, and all of them are in jail. Brown or black versus the Board of Education is no longer the white person's problem. We have got to take the neighborhood back. People used to be ashamed. Today a woman has eight children with eight different 'husbands' - or men or whatever you call them now. We have millionaire football players who cannot read. We have million-dollar basketball players who can't write two paragraphs. We as black folks have to do a better job. Someone working at Wal-Mart with seven kids, you are hurting us. We have to start holding each other to a higher standard. We cannot blame the white people any longer."

Rep Power: 21 | Re: Bill Cosby I read Whoopi Goldberg's book a few years back. She stated that she is not African-American, but American. She said she was not from Africa nor has she ever been there. I really don't believe it's a "black" thing though, take a look at the so-called white kids and how they dress and speak. Two years ago, my son was wearing his jeans half way down his *** crack with his boxers hanging over the waist line. I was constantly telling him to pull his pants up! I had to leave early for work one morning, and my sister spotted him wearing these pants to school like this. Call me a terrible Mom, but I called the principal and asked him to talk to my son. He did, he informed my son that they do not allow them to wear their clothes like this in school and if he was caught again, he would be suspended! LOL! But he doesn't wear them like that anymore unless they are just a little big on him.

Rep Power: 103 | Re: Bill Cosby People always want to look for reasons why that whatever is wrong with their lives isn't their own fault. Got to be somebody else that did this to them. Why am I not as successful as my neighbor? Surely he isn't smarter than me or doesn't work harder than me. It's not fair that they have more than me. They should have to pay my rent and help support me.

This is something that really gets my goat (and not much does!) -- I HATE hearing a story that involves African Americans and whites. Ummm, if you're going to call one person a ____-American, then everyone should be, so the "whites" should be European Americans. But I've never been to Europe! My parents aren't from there either, we've been in America since there was an America... I'm just a light complected American..... And if you're going to call me me white, the darker complected folks should be called black. What about all the darke complected people that aren't from Africa? Like the ones from the Islands? Just had to say it... Hope no one finds it offensive.

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Bill Cosby My son is 9 and we just had this discussion. I asked him what he thought about that style, he said, it looked gross. I told him I didn't like it either. :) My husband said it was a prison thing for a in your A$$ quickie (not speaking from experience), he listens to Savage. Nice, some of americans are now *****es, pull up your pants. I remember wen men had nice butts to look at. SIGH BTW MY HUSBAND SAID THIS TO ME NOT MY SON. glo- I always refer to myself as an American (proud too), when I visited Europe I said I was an American, you can bet every American referred to themselves as Americans. Why don't we do that here? I have a mix of different cultures, doesn't everyone? My family or familia rather is very caught up in race. They swear they are discriminated against and are very resentful to the so called whites. They actually think I am trying to be white, and well I am half, hello no I am trying to be brown hence the tanning salon. All jokes aside, I just wish we as Americans could just be Americans we really do have all the same opportunites if you can utilize them. I know other cities would argue, but rise above your own oppressions. The main reason I wanted to start my own business was because every person from another country is utilizing the land of opportunity motto why can't I? I will get off of my soap box now. :) |

When my daughter was 14 she tried to gilt me into letting her wear the “IN” clothing. She informed me she will grow-up be dysfunctional and end up on Jerry Springer because I would not let her express herself through clothing. Understanding I would be the cause of her tragic fate, I offered to make an appointment for her to start therapy right away so she could start working out her issues. She never got the choice clothing however, she did write in her high school yearbook “Thank you Mom & Dad for the all times you grounded me and for the all things you didn’t let me do. I understand the meaning why now.” Last edited by Kay; 08-26-2006 at 11:35 AM.
