On the rocord: I know the veterns have been a tad annoyed with noobies lately, so i wanted to set it straight that I'm not exactly a noobie. I've been reading this board for 5+ years or so (I actully use the search funtion - actully I think I've used the search funtion to death). I'm not quite sure I can search on any more subjects at this point. I'm much more a seeker of knowledge than a giver, as I feel I still myself have tons to learn. But I'm bored at work and figured today would be a good day to post somthing. :)

I did want to touch on a subject I feel hasnt been touch on a lot.
Expansion: Expansion in small towns
I'm currently expanding one of my stores to 16 units (with room for 19), and was a little curious how many of you had expanded a smaller store to double or more its size?

Also, if you had done this - did you notice a big jump in clinetel being much larger or did it take a while to get to the daily totals and/or visits you thought it would reach by expanding.

Currently: My stores are only 5 minutes apart - one has 9 units and the other will be the 16 unit. I'm not really looking for advice per say but maybe we can just touch on salons growing/expanding in todays economy. Including people who are doing it now or who have done it in the past few years, and your experiences with expaning and growing. The likes, dislikes, and problems you may have run into along the way.

what are you looking to expand on - as far as type of equipment

what do you mean? the Levels?
If so, I will have at that particular location: these are total counts including what I already have
6 Level 1 (standard 100w system)
3 Level 2 (100w with 3 HP Faicals)
2 Level 3 (160/100 with HP Faicals)
2 Level 4 (160w with side, should, facials + stanup)
1 HP
1 Spray Booth
1 Facial rejuvenation system (I own a cosmetics comapany so I have a pretty steady clientel base for skincare - so I am seriously interested in this type of equipment. (I've tried some, and loved the results myself.)

The other 3 rooms - no clue, I guess whatever I see we need more of
