blinking lamps

I just changed a couple lamps that went out in our stand up, but they are blinking or flashing, are they not in tight enough or what else could be the problem, first time changing lamps ever :)

Re: blinking lamps

Did you change the starters? I would bet that is the problem. But just in case what lamps, what standup and what starters are in there..

Re: blinking lamps

I am not familar with the ergoline beds, someone on here probably is though. You can use the search function and see if you can find anything on here helping you. If not i would call the bed company direct and ask them, if they have good customer service they should be able to tell u.

Re: blinking lamps

could be the lamp or starter. change a blinking with a non blinking if it still blinks its the starter. or swap starters.

Re: blinking lamps

if they are 160watt lamps (or 140watt in Ergo world) you should be using eStarters.

Re: blinking lamps

actually do not use the electronic starters on the 140W powered 160 watt lamps as they are not the best for that application. Do not use the S-16 either.. For the 140 watt ballast application use the S-12 or the cleo power. For the 160 the extended preheat electronic or the cleo power starter are best

Re: blinking lamps

Yes the normal electronic starters will not work in the 140 application as lamptech said. I have seen them fire sometimes but not often. Cosmedico has a new electronic starter for 100watt and I believe to 140watt. I will need to check and see which one that is, haven't used them yet. You may have a capacitor issue as well.
