EFT's- worth it or not?

hey guys,

we currently offer auto-draft. how many think this is the way to go? how many think it's better to have the customer just pay for what they want in the store, either monthly, or by session? (which we also offer)

I am wondering if this whole EFT craze is a waste of my time... I spend so much effort training employees on it, dealing with angry people, and paying employees extra to take care of all the EFT paperwork etc... all while offering it at a discounted rate... I am thinking I may just be better off eliminating it... and charging one rate for each of my different beds... but of course the slow season is upon us.... ALL OPINIONS WELCOMED.

thanks

If you do it right...then **** YES it's worth it. Make it easy for the customers. No contracts, cancellation fees, etc.

Re: EFT's- worth it or not?

Mine has been worth it. Mainly "almost" year round tanners. Keeps money coming in that I can count on in a sense. I don't bottom line price it. It is about a $10 reduction from regular prices but I push the fact that as long as your account is current you don't have to worry about price increases. 6 month minimum commitment, coupons, and no enrollment fee but i do have a "processing fee" upon cancelation. Not to many problems. Have had it since February 1 decline and once cancelation. I run them through myself

I guess it is. 100 per month and they spend 12.5K per month or more on lotions too!! Piff!

Also, this topic has come up at least 5 times in the last 2 weeks, have a try at our search function.

Re: EFT's- worth it or not?

Okay, I'm sorry I asked a similar question in a other forum.
Can anyone give me tips on presentation to sell customer on EFT program.
Ours is 29.99 enrollment fee with no cancellation fee, 14.99/mo for level 1 beds, 39.99/mo. for level 2 beds, 20% off upgrades to higher beds, and 25% off your first bottle of lotion with EFT sign up.
We've offered many other promotions, such as no sign up fee, a free starter kit: 20.00 bottle free lotion or can be used towards other bottle type, personal towel, personal top line eyewear and a mesh bag to carry it all in.
What I'm looking more for is how you present this to client to snag them. Key words things to leave out ect.

Re: EFT's- worth it or not?

i do not use efts, i think it depends on your salon and customer base. My customers personally wouldnt go for it. They like to have sessions in bulk. I try doing monthly at a reduced rate to see if it would work out and never has...

Re: EFT's- worth it or not?

Eft's are becomming an essential part of the tanning business. Most of the salons you see going under are doing so because they cant make it through the slow times. We as salon owners cannot depend on the fickle customer to ensure that our bills will be paid. Our bills still arrive every summer month, even though our customers may not. If your EFT memberships are structured in such a way that they benefit not only the customer, but you as well, then they will sell themselves. I cant tell you how to impliment them as they may apply to your salon because every situation is different, but this is where you as a business owner must make your own decision. In a nutshell..... Are they Worth it...... Absolutely!
