For all you electrical GURUS....Ac question - tanTALK

Alright guys.....we just had a power surge and now my ac will not turn back on. I flipped the breaker and still nothing. Any suggestions? This 114 degree weather is killing our electricity!

You may have a seperate dedicated breaker on the AC unit itself that tripped, or something that fried, or both. Good luck. ~It's gettin hot n hier, so ...~

Yeah, check your breakers. If you have one for the a/c that you can find, reset it even if it doesn't look tripped.

Where's Whodow? When was he supposed to be hier? Maybe he's on the roof inspecting the condensers? Does this look like the guy:

Is it a 2 position or 3 position circuit breaker ? If it does not re-start AND it's a 3 pole C/B call an HVAC guy out, it probably was 'single -phasing', or trying to start with only 2 of the three legs providing power.

Possibly has burned out the compressor :(
