How dangerous are solariums/tanning booths?

I know a lot of people say they are dangerous.. but exactly how dangerous are they? I know they can cause wrinkley skin, cancer etc., but how often are you gonna have to use them for these to come about? I understand going 2-3 times per week would be a bad idea, but what about once every 7-10 days or about. How is this different from laborers who work out in the sun for 8-10 hours per day? Isnt 10 minutes in a high power solarium equate to 8 hours in the hot sun? So the laborers are still in a much higher risk arnt they? I dont see how going once ever 7-10 days is xcessive and if you exfoliate/moisterise properly wont that take away the problem with the wrinkley skin coming about. So its only the cancer possability to worry about?

Please, don't watch TV and use common sense. If you don't burn there should be no problems.

If you eat dougnuts every morning they become dangerous because of your chances to chock on it. 8)

GUNS DONT KILL PEOPLE - PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE.
Tanning booth is not dangerous - overexpousure to UV light is dangerous, sunburn is dangerous. Tan slow to avoid sunburn, tanning 2 times a week is not too much, go read tanningtruth.com also. Session in a tanning booth is equal to session in a tanning booth. To me, comparing tanning bed and the sun is like comparing rollercoaster and falling down the stairs. One is more controlled and scientifically researched. LOL i dont know if anology is right.

My answer is this:

You can regulate the amount of UV rays in a tanning bed but you can't when you are at the beach all day.
