Rep Power: 21 | Re: ACRYLIC If the acrylics are discoloring, I would change them. If you have a meter, see if you are getting sufficient radiation. If not, and your lamps are withing their hours or % change, then it could be the acrylics. Chances are you are just over-reacting. |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: ACRYLIC ehhhhhhi dunno. i have owned the salon over a year and the previous owners where very very cheap. i mean never relamped a booth in 5 years. even the maintence guy one day was like change the acrylics do urself a favor.

Rep Power: 0 | Re: ACRYLIC If you have no cracks you should change them at 3,000 or 4,000 hours they diminish the amount of UV they put through them after this but it also depends on what type of material they are using to make the acrylic. |

Rep Power: 117 | Re: ACRYLIC One gal on Tantalk polishes hers everyday.I'm thinking about changing my frosted to clear acrylics. Mine have gotten really cloudy lately for some reason and I think it's interfering with the tanning potential. |

Matt's correct , the "average" life of most acrylics is approx. 3,000- 4,000 hrs. Take meter readings with and without the acrylics on. This may be a pain but only needs to be done on occasion.(i do every 90 days) If there is greater than a 5 % drop in total UV with acrylics on it's getting close to replacement time. 10 % would be a max. amt. Like everything else acrylics "wear out". They become solarized.........letting through much less UV. Especially UVB.

I compained to the lamp company who has bent over backwards to help me but I'm beginning to think it's the acrylics. |
