We had to fire 2 girls this week. 1 for stealing and 1 for having a **** poor attitude. Do what you need to do to have shifts covered. I aggree with devastoj...let the good ones get the better shifts.

I have some problems that are going on right now that are alot like this. I have some people that arent even working like i want. This has been the worst year for employees that i have ever had. ONe of my girls left before the seaon started and another one a few weeks ago. They left for better jobs. Anyway, i know who is doing what right know and who is not doing enough. My wife is havinbg our first baby next friday. Going to work as least as possible for a week and not much more the week after that. I dont have time to hire and fire right now. After this baby comes though and i get my head half way stright guess what - same ole me is coming back and the trouble makers and just enough workers are gone. Just being a good worker is not going to save you. Store the info away it is just enough that you know where you stand and with who. My guess though is that you will tire of sitituation. I pulled two girls into my office last month and closed the shades to EXPLAIN to them i dont play he said she stuff im too old. Fix it or someone is leaving and someone will. Now im rambling i should go. |

I sit them all together and explain how many people are necessary on what times. As all their preferences are not compatible, what should we do? Then they have to say in front of the other why they think they should get the better hours :-) That is usually painful as the others will bite their head off LOL. Usually it's a bit of give and take and then everybody feels responsible for making the schedule work as they designed it their own.
