Rep Power: 20 | Most Efficient form of Advertising?? What do you fellow Canadians think the best, most effective advertising is? I know we can't really follow what our US friends do. We need to find a way to let people know we're here but I hate wasting money I don't have? Any ideas? |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Most Efficient form of Advertising?? Well the closest gym to us is across the street from another salon (not really that close to us) and the owners (of both) are friends so they already do that. The next nearest gym is quite a hike from us. We tried with the local hair salon and still do but it just doesn't seem to help us very much. Funny thing is many people who walkin tell us they live near by and never knew we were here which is quite a **** off as we advertised door to door as well as the local paper a few times. What more do they need? |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Most Efficient form of Advertising?? direct Data base advertising, and a good referal program has always worked best for us. TV listings advertising did okay, Full page ONLY news paper adds worked well for us (we only do those 3 times a year) You will find it differs in different area's. Data base and referal programs are a good bet for all salons though. |

Rep Power: 20 | Re: Most Efficient form of Advertising?? We ran a referral deal last year, we gave a few free sessions if people brought in someone who took a package. It worked well until people tried scamming us for free sessions so we stopped it. We need to "word it" properly so as not to get scammed. As for a full page, we thought of it and my wife wanted to do it but I just didn't see us recuperating that much expense. Maybe she was right and I should stop being so cheap, but it's difficult spending what you're NOT making. Last edited by depomas2; 05-31-2006 at 06:42 PM. |

My friend said she had good results with Coffe News which I just started 2 weeks ago and I'm using it to advertise our Free Tan Weekend so we'll see how that goes. Apparently myspace accounts work well too because you can search users by postal codes and advertise your salon. I've had one for about a week and it was funny how many people replied saying they'd come in.

Hi guys, I'm in the States, but I thought I'd let you know of a FREEEEEEEE and great way to drum up a little business that worked for me and can also work for you (I think). Go to www.craigslist.com and throw a FREE ad in there. I've listed about 10 ads now and have gotten over a dozen calls, from there alone!!! I don't know how big craigslist is there, but here it is getting very popular and the best thing about it is you can drop an ad in almost any category. Hope this helps a little! |
