Arrow Some clients don't keep their color

Hey Everyone!
This is my first post so I hope I did it right.

I opened a salon about a month ago and I only do airbrush tanning. Some customers hold the color better than others and I know it has to do with the customer's skin itself and their pH but does anyone have any tricks to make it last longer other than washing gently and moisturizing? Any solution recommended?

Thanks! ...Jo

Re: Some clients don't keep their color

Almost as important as what the client does after being sprayed is how they prepared before getting sprayed. Proper exfoliation is essential.

Proper cleansing with a ph balanced cleanser or a cleansing cloth designed for spray tanning .

Then, as you said, moisturize a lot.
Bathe gently. Don't scrub off the skin.
Don't soak in the tub or in the pool.
And as you said, everybody is different. I have had people that said their tan lasted 3 weeks. I have had others say theirs lasted 3 days. 7 to 10 days seems to be average.

make sure they aren't using lotions/shave cream/ shower gel with mineral oils in it before they spray....

Re: Some clients don't keep their color

I do make sure of all that, I guess the final factor is just the person's skin itself and it's pH? Does anyone recommend a solution that they found to work great and keep color a little longer?

Thanks--this website is so helpful!

Re: Some clients don't keep their color

Let's see. The skin sheds. It would stand to reason that your skin might return to it's normal color, unlike your hair, without severe cellular damage/mutation. Hmmmm .... maybe they need to either tan more often or, buy stock in Sharpie. ~why I oughta .... ~
