I'm gonna go with the rays penetrating deeper than the skin. Like people that think tanning pregnant will actually harm the baby. Uhhh, tell that to all the women pregnant in the summer who sit out at the lake then. Nobody gave birth to a petrified fetus from that as far as I know.

I don't think I ever heard that either sandi, i know i was at the beach when i was pregnant. i just covered my tummy with a suit.

yep when i was prego i asked my doctor if it would hurt to tan in the bed,and he said it would not reach the baby at all,i was just worried cause i didnt know i was pregnant and i was laying in the bed,i didnt lay anymore after i found out i was prego but he said it would not harm her at all,i hate stupid people when it comes to tanning,i just roll my eyes when they say stupid stuff.

The best one is always floating around this time of year around the prom season.... "Theres this girl, and she went tanning at 3 differrent salons every day for 2 weeks (so she tanned 3 X's per day). She felt sick, and decided to go see a doctor. Then after examining her, the doctor told her she cooked her insides from over tanning, and she died a few days later"!!! LMFAO! That myth is the absolute best Ive ever heard. The funny thing is, no matter how many people you tell that it is a myth, next year someone will spark it up again, and you will deal with it all over again!
