April 17, 2006 DENVER, April 17 - A survey of 23 newspapers published by Denver-area public high schools found that 11 (48%) carried ads for tanning parlors, which feature potentially carcinogenic UV rays. Moreover, 37.5% of the advertisements offered deals for unlimited tanning sessions and half of the ads offered discounts to high school students, according to a report in the April issue of Archives of Dermatology. Rep Power: 0 | Re: Dangerous Tanning Parlors Advertise in High School Papers we have a highschool newspaper but we can not advertise anything. especially tanning. my school always preaches about the danger of tanning, but once prom time comes around everybody is tanning. i mean i really don't see the big deal in tanning. if you use the right lotion, spf, protect your face, and check monthly of any new moles, you will be fine. it is the stupid people who don't tan correctly that gives tanning a bad name! |
