This is a great board to ask questions and get lots of feedback. Everyone is so nice and very helpful. Don't be afraid to ask....there's seasoned salon owners on here, as well as newbies who are all willing to help a fellow salon owner. The information you'll receive here is so valuable! Good luck! |

Some advice I could give u is that you have to educate yourself and your staff all the time because there is always something new to learn....plus educate your clients as much as possible. They will definitely appreciate a salon who cares enough to take the time to explain the tanning process and all the types of lotions available. Continued success in your business!! Welcome to TanTalk-there is an abundance of knowledge on here!! All the salon owners on here are wonderful!!

My advice (and I've learned the hard way unfortunately), is to never trust anyone working for you , no matter how "sweet" they appear, or how much you like them....they'll screw you in the end...... Keep your salon the cleanest it can be, you'll never loose a customer because your "too darn clean" and always make your customer your top priority. Place ads in all the local school year books, and keep your beds in top notch shape... never run down your competition, always keep a touch of class..... this is a " public relations " job if ever there was one..... you'll find out who your friends are and make some enemies just because of jealousy. People think owning a buisness is so prestegious, it is better than working for someone else, but you have all the headaches that go with it... Pay your bills on time, and remeber,,, there are people who always want something for nothing and arent' afraid to ask,,, so learn the word "NO" as quickly as possible......... Good Luck...... |
