I swear! offer free spray and it brings out the cheapest of the cheap!!! This wasn't MY idea but it happened anyways. I highly suggest that if you are thinking about offering it for free for first time clients, DON'T. We have gotten so many people who "just want their free spray" they call first to make sure that they absolutely don't have to pay ANYTHING... AND then if they get a tiny mistake or if they don't feel it was dark enough they call or come in and demand another free spray.... my god, people are cheap.

Do nothing for free. Ever. Decide what type of clientele you want. do you want the cheap ones looking for a bargin or the ones who like to spend money and have money to spend. I perfer the ones with money. :)

Make them buy a package and then give them a free spray.

^^^^ Yes, if you are going to give something for free (which is probably not the best thing to do), make the client buy something first. Like Dustin said, if they buy a package they get a spray, or if they buy a package they get a sample lotion. Cause if you don't you will bring in all the clients you don't want, and they will always be looking for the "freebies"...

I'm with them ^ free just brings out the bottom feeders, and they are the hardest to please.

Nope giving free has never worked for me neither. If you or anyother tanning shop wants to add extra income and works great call me at 979-249-5585 and I will tell you what has worked great for me.

Okay, one basic law of the universe -- ain't nothin' fer free. The spray tan isn't free either, you're paying for it.

What works for some is to offer the free spray tan credited against a package. Kind of like Dish Network's free installation. You pay $49 for installation and get a $49 credit on your first bill. They pay for the tan and get the normal cost of a spray tan credited against whatever they purchase. Of course, you set the price on whatever it is that they purchase.
