Rep Power: 24 | Soo, wev'e now been robbed at gunpoint So it had to happen, alraedy had a crappy week, but busy as **** with clients. Full house of clients in beds trying to relax, and some piece of s***, scum, decides to watch the salon, waits, and shows he's skank self with a gun...cursing and swearing for the ****ing money. It was super busy at the salon at 9;20 pm tonight. And my other half decideds to, hahaha ask if he was f***** serious. Scumbag cocks the gun...so my half decides to make it a SLOW process, hoping someone would have walked in, however the guy got the money, but my dumass man decides to chase the guy with the gun.....he turns around to shoot my guy!! F*** that, buddy jumps in his car and then trys to run my man over ..WTF??! I'm ****** at my man AND this scumbag. This guy even had the balls to aim the gun at a client that caught him off guard coming out of a bed...i feel so bad for her, he forced her back into the room. its 3:30 am here now, we are drinking, stressed out and unable to sleep.... he even was able to give police a car, a plate # etc, but it was a "repossed" car ....hmmm. they did also lift prints.....keep your fingers crossed, that they will catch him before my other half does...

Your man needs to learn to just hand over the money and let the police do the chasing tho......he is sooooo lucky he is okay. Hope the police find the ******* that did this lady bug. |

What is everybody doing to protect their staff and salons against armed robbery? We already have security cameras, and in the last couple months we updated our operations manual to outline a staff procedure. In researching with the police and other business were now focusing on two additional steps: 1) Getting a "Panic Button". As I understand them, these "Panic Buttons" are pendants that are worn around the neck, under the shirt and can be activated inconspicuously through the shirt to alert the police during a robbery. 2) Dropping cash into the safe during the shift. The idea here is not to let a great deal of cash accumulate in the cash drawer though-out the shift. Anybody got other ideas? Tom |

Rep Power: 107 | Re: Soo, wev'e now been robbed at gunpoint Those are some great ideas Tommy. We also have security cameras in place, and I already do require the staff to periodically drop money in the safe to keep the drawer from appearing too tempting..... where did you see the panic buttons at? I wouldn't mind looking into those. I have always told my staff to just hand over the money and not to do anything that would put themselves, or any clients in danger. We are only less than a block away from the police department, so that always helps us feel a bit safer , but things like this happen and I know it could happen to us, so I do talk with all of my employees about what they should do if this should ever happen. |

What wrong you do to me, you will suffer the same in equal measure. Or, pay backs are a beach. Glad to hear you all didn't get hurt. The money can be replaced. You've gotten some great security info above. When these issues happens it makes us all think, it could happens to us. |

We also have an uncommon problem of real late hours and we're looking into door buzzers for that. Do you have froms for inter-shift cash drops? Does your staff keep track of what they drop? Tom | |
