This weekend I heard a commercial for a tanning salon around my area but not really my competition that stated "XYZ tanning salon has the best tanning beds in the industry, DR Kern, blah blah blah"

I know nothing about these beds and I'm not dissing them but a girl that was with me asked me if they can really get away with stating that. She smiled at me and said "I thought yours were the best"........

Just wondered because I'm getting ready for some advertising and I am very careful with words and not to offend the comp. or advertise MINE ARE THE BEST.

In general to advertise your XYZ is the best, you have to be able to prove it. That is why most ads say 'No one has a better XYZ'. To say no one has a better, just means yours is the same as everyone elses but sounds like your saying it's better.

State the STATS - Thats why we're taught to Educate! Educate! Educate! People will figure it out for themselves. XYZ may have the best - but do they clean the bulbs reg? Do they change them? How's the customer service?

Right now Im in a position where my beds are slightly dated, but I give a **** and my bulbs are new and I use the legit Mystic solution and I dust the bulbs once a week - People realize it because guess what? Lately I've been hearing is I got AMESOME COLOR @ Summer Sun. And that is what really matters.

Davos, I purchased a used Hex and I have new bulbs in it and people are getting great color. I actually burned in it and I am dark so older equiptment that is maintained is just as good. I don't have the big, bad a$$ High Pressure beds to offer but my beds are new so I am kind of advertising in that direction, New Beds, Clean Facilities, Great Customer Service and Large selection of lotions in all price ranges.

You can say "some of the best " instead of the "the best", takes the edge off

Missy I think you're headed in the right direction - Like Im saying I think the way to go is state "Get Great Color Here" "Beautiful Color Here" just b/c I find consumers understand COLOR not BEDS

Get a great, golden tan at XYZ............ya, I use that one in almost all my advertising.

I guess that could be false advertising because with the new bulbs, everyone seems to be burning. oopsy!
