Question OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

Salon Owners, do you prefer open or closed ceilings?

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

Before we owned our own salon I tanned at a salon with open ceilings. I was always worried that someone would be hanging out up there. Ours are closed here.

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

I have closed now, but I am thinking that with my second salon I may go open, but have the walls a little higher than normal. I just like the look of an open concept ceiling if it is done right.

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

We have two rooms with closed ceilings and three with open. It stays alot cooler with the open ceiling rooms then with the closed ones.

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

I guess I should have stated this better, open ceiling meaning no ceiling tiles and closed ceiling meaning with ceiling tiles.

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

We have drop ceiling that we painted dark gray for design purposes, looks great.
Designed right, an open truss ceiling with exposed ducts looks great, too.

Re: OPEN or ClOSED CEILING????

Our walls do not go right up to the ceiling, but they are high enough that no one is capable of looking over, even if they stand on a chair.
