Rep Power: 0 | Sale Calls I have been lurking long enough to know most people hate salesman to call and some don't even like for them to just drop by, I' m going to be working with a new company selling lotion and etc, and was curious what is the best way for a salesman to get you to be open to look at their product. Is the phone, or coming by or just dealing with a disty. I want to do the right thing, and not upset any potential clients, I know I can't please everybody ...but I'd like to give it a try...just asking for suggestions before I come calling or knocking..Thank You |

Even if the lotion is one of the best out there, I will not bring it in just because of poor or non-existant phone manners. Just my opinions |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Sale Calls Samples, samples, samples. I go to shows pay my $, and get my samples, mix with other owners, see what they like and try a bottle of their fav. I use the samples, give them to a couple of my one year clients and to my best workers. that helps me decide if I like it. One of the reasons I like DS so much is the free samples with 6 bottles. Plus I've used their other products and like them. Plus they send me samples for customer appreciation day. So I still say Samples. samples, samples! that does not me 3 packets, to know what your whole line does. |

Rep Power: 103 | Re: Sale Calls Why are you different than my other distributors that I have done business with? Are you going to give me better service? Cheaper prices? Are you going to come clean beds for me? If I am going to switch to you, I better get something that I am not getting now.

Rep Power: 113 | Re: Sale Calls For me, stopping by my salon is a no-no because I am the only one there. It's busy season and I don;t have time to talk to you unless you are a customer. I say you mail out a few samples with some information about your company, and-ABSOLUTE MUST - a list of the ingredients. Some of us are big lotion freaks and look and study ingredients all the time. The mailing thing can be expensive, I know....but it could be worth it in the long run. If you do want to go door-to-door, I would suggest you have all the info ready to drop-off and that you don't linger.

Rep Power: 103 | Re: Sale Calls Jacks Mommy has the right idea. But again, what are you going to do for me that I am not getting now? That is the question that you have to answer, even if I don't ask it. If you don't have the answer, you don't make the sale.
