Rep Power: 30 | Re: How is everyones sales for Feb-March so far? We are up for a number of reasons. This is our second year in the tanning business. Started out with 5 beds last season and by March of 2005 had 2 more installed. In January of this year I added the Mastersun 360 and a MyMyst. I would attribute most of my success this year to the following: Hired Steve Underhill in the spring of 2005. Read a several thousand posts on four different tanning sites Went to the Orlando show in 2004 and the Nashville show in 2005 Met and talked to several people on this site - this was invaluable Added the equipment that would generate the maximum revenue for my salon Hired a great manager who truly takes ownership in the salon Most importanly I listen to what everyone was telling me and made the appropriate changes that will ensure a 200-300 percent increase this year. 2005 was really all about learning and getting everything in order the way I should have done when I opened. I also made sure I had the cash to do things the right way without skimping. Unfortunately I did not make many of my changes early enough last season to see any great results. This is the year that it all comes together for me. Quote:

I think because January was very mild and warm for us, the temp even got to 70 degrees the one day. The mind was playing tricks with our customers, saying come in, spring's coming. The February hits and now March and it is cold, like the beginning of December. The mind is telling the customers stay in your warm house next to the fire to keep warm. |
