Rep Power: 0 | Re-bulbing .. 9k90's or Something better? Last time I had researched bulbs on TanTalk, the 9k90's seemed to have the definitive position of the best 100w bulb, as far as the output and being a long-term bronzing bulb. I'm going to rebulb a 100w bed and I'm curious whether the 9k90 is still the definitive bulb, or whether some of the new bulbs I'm reading about have surpassed the 9k90 (for example the "celeste" recently mentioned, etc)? I'm not as concerned with the bulb-life as I am with finding a 100w low-pressure bulb that can come closer to HP style output (ah yes, something for nothing :-) Thank you in advance for any objective suggestions! |

Rep Power: 113 | Re: Re-bulbing .. 9k90's or Something better? The Beach Suns are awesome. I have 3 of my beds lamped with Beach Suns and 3 lamped with Radiance. I won't tan with the Radiance anymore. There is definatley a BIG difference in these lamps....both 100W. Some of my clients love the Radiance because it gives them the "red" they want...of course that goes away quickly, but you know how some clients can be...they want immediate color. The Beach Suns don't give any red....I've never been so brown. They are the best - IMHO

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Re-bulbing .. 9k90's or Something better? The GSP 9K90 is an outstanding lamp. The rated life on these lamps are 1500 hours which they do last close to this, depending on the operation of you bed. Voltage, cooling etc. This is a lamp that is for bronzing. Not a real high UVB lamp. I have customers with them and they actually love them. If you customers are looking for immediate results (red) than this wouldn't be a lamp to go with. Prices are around the 12.95 and above, depending on how many you order. I think you would be happy with them. Try them in one bed and see what you think. What type of beds do you have. This is also a major factor. PM and I can help you or give you my number and explain them more clearly. thanks, Jeff |

Rep Power: 143 | Re: Re-bulbing .. 9k90's or Something better? I have to agree with Mike on this one. Why make your base beds so good. I would do level 2 and up in the 9k90's. If you give such an awesome lamp in your base, why upgrade? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Re-bulbing .. 9k90's or Something better? Just for purposes of this discussion, I would like to assume price and total longevity aren't the top issue. I say this only because I'm trying to be sure we're talking about the definitive high-output bulb in this range without adding other factors. I have a 32/3-bulb Dr.Kern that I would like to run @ 10min. Although I don't have the expertise to say for sure, I was under the impression that 120w bulbs couldn't be used in 100w beds/ballasts. With the other items aside, is there a higher-output bulb, particularly one that provides a USA/B balance for long term, that surpasses the 9k90? For example, the Interelectric Sun Celeste, the LSI SolGlass, or the Light Source Beach Sun mentioned above? It seems the consensus on TanTalk is that Interelectric are just too cheap, so perhaps I shold scratch those -- I only bring it up because there have been two recent messages proclaiming this bulbs excellence. One thread suggests the SolGlass are better than the 9k90's, but no one chimed in with an objective affirmation. The pretty graphs on LSI's website ...:-)... seem pretty convincing if true, the added intensity from their clear glass, but I couldn't determine whether they have a 100w model. |
