Rep Power: 21 | CODE OF ETHICS I HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM....I MAIL OUT FLYERS, I HAVE STORES THAT INCLUDE MY FLYERS IN TO-GO BAGS ETC... AND IT WORKS OUT GREAT....... LAST WEEK THOUGH I THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE THEM TAKEN AROUND TO A BUNCH OF LOCAL BUSINESS. ONE OF MY CUSTOMERS WHO IS A CLUB PROMOTER SUGGESTED I PLACE THEM ON CARS IN PARKING LOTS THAT IT'S A VERY EFFECTIVE MARKETING TIP FOR GETTING IN "NEW" CUSTOMERS. SO I HIRED TWO RESPONSIBLE YOUNG MEN TO TAKE THE FLYERS AND DO JUST THAT.I TOLD THEM NOT TO PLACE THEM IN ANY PARKING LOT THAT INCLUDED HAD ANY OTHER TANNING SALON IN IT. THERES ABOUT 5 OTHER SALONS WITHIN 20 MINS AND THEY MISSED ALL OF THEM BUT ONE.... ACCIDENTLY THEY PLACED THEM ON CARS IN A STRIP MALL THAT INCLUDED A SMALL TANNING SALON. WHEN I FOUND OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED I CALLED THE OTHER OWNER TO APOLOGIZE AND TOLD HER I WOULD HAVE THEM REMOVED AT ONCE. SHE PROCEED TO TELL ME THAT OBVIOUSLY I DIDN'T KNOW THE BUSINESS CODE OF ETHICS. I APOLOGIZED TO HER SEVERAL TIMES AND SENT THE GUYS TO TAKE THEM ALL OFF. SHE WAS STILL RUDE. I FEEL SO BAD I DIDN'T MEAN TO RUFFLE ANY FEATHERS.....I AM NOT THE TYPE OF PERSON TO BE SNEAKY I KNOW ALL OF US ARE JUST TRYING TO SUCCEED. I WAS THINKING ON SENDING SOME CHOCOLATES OR MAYBE A NICE BASKET WITH SOME LOTIONS IN IT AS A WAY OF SAYING SORRY.... WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: CODE OF ETHICS I had a salon flyer my parking lot which I really could care less about. I contacted the management group of our plaza and complained as no one including anyone within our plaza is allowed to do it. The salon that advertised I wasn't worried about as I had been in there and they were sooooooooo dirty and customer service was terrible. I knew my customers would come back raving about our salon. Next time I ran a special I flyered their parking lot.......... |

Rep Power: 19 | Re: CODE OF ETHICS It is now illegal to put flyers anywhere on cars in NY. You'll get a ticket for each flyer on anywhere on a car. She probably wouldn't have even noticed, unless one was put on her car. FootPrint is right about a possible retaliation. If she was that nasty on the phone, she may go out of her way to do the same to you. Don't worry about it, there's nothing you can do and have already been super nice. |
