Rep Power: 0 | WHAT IS THE SECRET? Where should I look to find decent employees? It seems I have gone almost every route, and I can't seem to find someone that has the availability AND the brainpower and the integrity (i could go on but i won't) that we need. Im tired of training only to see them quit/ or get fired for something stupid 2 weeks later. Im desperate... about to place another $200.00 AD in the paper this weekend. |

She's tanned here for over a year, and I'm friends with her family. So, I know she's smart, already knowledgable about tanning without even training yet, and trustworthy. Look for people like that at your salon who may need a job. |

Rep Power: 52 | Re: WHAT IS THE SECRET? I never will leave a help wanted sign in the window. If a customer who is'nt really the right person wants a job and you tell her......well whatever you tell them, and then they notice a new hire soon thereafter? A little uncomfortable huh? ( i've been there) I usually find some good ones through my present staff. They already understand the expectations and pretty much won't suggest someone who is'nt the right type. I also try to involve them in the hiring process. Man there's no perfect system. I've been sooooo wrong many times. I just have learned to trust my judgement after 2 weeks at the most. Stay or go. |

Rep Power: 21 | Re: WHAT IS THE SECRET? I usually scout out my clients. Those who have tanned with me usually have ended up being some of my best employees. Finding good employees is tough...these days (gawd I sound like my mother!) people do not have the same work ethic as they did years back. The kids get everything from their parents, $500 purses, $300 jeans, and they do not work a day in their life for those items. The sense of responsibility for ones actions are not there! Its tough, as hard as it is, when you find one that is awesome treat them like they are gold! |
