Re: 100 watt lamps best 10 minute

Why would you put a 10 minute lamp in a 20 minute bed?? NOBODY is gonna only go 10 minutes, and they will most likely burn with more! We use Equater Sun (7.5% UVB) in one of our 20 minute beds, and it makes people RED after like 15 nminutes. The more experienced tanners can stay the whole 20, but they get RED every time (which is what some clients want). YOu dont get ANY MORE tan than you would from a lamp with 5-6% UVB in it, you just simply get more red. Salon owners confuse lamps with a high UVB % to be somewhat comparable to a VHR lamp, when they are really not. YOu cant just stick a 10 minute rated lamp in a 100 Watt/20 minute bed, and then expect it to tan like a VHR bed!! All your clients are gonna get is BURNT!! This is a good way to cut down tan times, and make EVERYONE say..... "no, I dont like that bed, it burns me too much"..... And it will just sit there unoccupied. I have two 100 Watt/20 minute beds in my salon. We use Mid-Day Sun lamps in one (5.5% UVB), and use Equater Sun in the other (7.5% UVB)- but call it a Hi-Tan bed. These lamps are about equal to the Cosmolux Hi-Tan (7.5% UVB)- but dont make you AS red. Your cheaper clients that dont use VHR's will be happy, and so will you, because the bed will be a big hit. REMEMBER, its not the higher UVB % or the average tan time that makes your beds a big hit...... Its the actual Tan a client gets, the Customer service (explaining the difference between lamps), and the price!!

The best fast tanning lamp is the Light Sources Equator Sun 8.5.

Re: 100 watt lamps best 10 minute

I currently have a Sundash Platinum 10 min bed. 100w lamps. I run the LS Equator Sun in this bed at the 10 min tan time. Clients get perfect color with no burning.
