When I first took over my salon, I had several young men come in to tan and insist that one of the girls who had worked there perviously, always let them tan for free.
Each time I told them I'm sorry it will be $6 to tan. One such young man came in and insisted I let him tan for free he had tanned here for free for over a year he was a faithful customer. I pulled his profile and he had spent exactly 0.00 dollars. I told him I am sorry hun its going to be $6 dollars . To which he replied you have beautiful eyes and you are extremely hot. I smiled again and offered to tell him about our specials...To which he replied " Then I will have to go somewhere else to tan for free." He walked alittle bit away from the counter and started towards the hall he then said "I will just got down the hall to the bed I always go in". I politely responsed "That's fine but I have to turn the bed on." He then Said in what I suppose was one last effort to tan " I am serious I will go somewhere else that will let me tan for free." I let him leave without to much of an arguement. Ratz I hate when I don't get to let people tan for free, Sucks doesn't it.. here he was such a loyal non-paying customer and I lost him......

I really hope you don't feel bad...Your in business to make money...PERIOD. His loyalty is to his wallet, not your salon. Next time say "see ya".

You know I had a similar problem when I took over this salon. We knew we would have some issues so we slightly lowered their previous prices which were WAY high to begin with hoping that would smooth things over. One day my husband went to a restuarant here in town to pick up lunch the owner came out and introduced himself to him as the previous owners friend and that we needed to bring some free passes down for himself and his staff. My husband polietly smiled and said oh is this meal free? The guy said no. My husband said my wife has overhead too and has to make a living but please come in see the changes. You know what EVERY waitress at that resturant tans here AND they pay!

Those are the type of customers that buy their lotions off ebay and tell other clients about it.

I was being I smart *** I don't feel bad at all that I lost him!! Obviously the girl that work here before had a club of guys she let tan for free. Guess I played the bouncer for that little club

Quite the bright bulb he was. Are you sure you want him to go somewere else and waste their time, money, bulbs, towels and cleaner???? Are you really sure?

Tan for free???? You should have asked him for his VISA Card so you could go shopping for free.
