:???: This will be our first busy season and prom season. I was just wanting to know of any ideas or specials that has worked. We don't have a good clientle of high school kids and was wondering what we could do to improve it.

Im in high school so i thought i would comment.... You could have one of your not so shy high school tanners kinda advertise and pass out flyers out at school.... Just a thought....

i have a contest among all the area highschools (2 in our town 4 in 4 adjoining towns) i give 10% of all purchases back to the school BUT only to the school that spends the most. we do a graph on the wall for the month before prom, every client that comes from the highschool marks there own 10%. the kids love the competition, of course then they tell others that they have to tan with us to beat whatever highschool they are rivals with that year. The end of the prom season one school normally gets a check for over 150 bucks. Oh and we give prom king and queen a 10 session package.

What we are doing for Prom time is getting together with a local flower shop, dress shop, tux rental and limo service and offering a package.

For prom offer a prom pkg... with gift bag.. Definitely hand out flyers or get a student to work for you during this time to spread the word... Cleaning beds, etc

Thinking about a drawing...with every purchase (within a certain time frame) they can enter to win something. I was thinking about gift cert for hair (girls), tuxedo rental (males)...perhaps dinner for 2, that would take care of either. Just a thought, still kicking the idea around.

My salon is right next door to a school, so I usually stay pretty busy. But, we offer deals on our packages. This year, one of my clients who is modeling in the "prom dress show" at her school is going to put my name in for one of the sponsors that will be handed out in the programs. Could you do something like that??

Well, we've tried many different approaches over the years and the best was the most simple. Print up some different specials and encourage your H.S. students to pass them out & write their names on them. For each one returned we give them a free session in any bed. We don't just limit it to the regular beds. Students are really motivated & they'll usually use their n/c sessions on the HP beds........which is cool because then they rave about them to tell friends. Doesn't pay to be cheap w/ that. There also walking around with HP tans and get more people asking about them.
