Tinea/ Tingle

I have been using the Selsum Blue to get rid of the Tinea that I have, but i have really been wanting to use my bottle of Shrine again, cuz i only got to use it about 2 times and had to stop cuz of the tinea.... I have been using for 1 week now, and it is still there but it is getting lighter and harder to notice. When would i be able to start using my tingle again? And if i start using the tingle when the tinea is gone, will it come back from using the tingle?

Re: Tinea/ Tingle

The jury is still out on that one. Some people notice tinea coming back stronger when they use tingles, others have no problems.

Re: Tinea/ Tingle

Our sure fire remedy and it has never failed us once in 4 years...even wrote a paper on it for U of F...med school....anyway...use Selsum Blue on your head (for 2 weeks) as it is a head fungus....then use what ever u want ...but we only use "Halt" by Norvell...says apply 2-3 times a day for 3 weeks...we notice a 70% reduction in the bottom the first week...

If you need any further help..please email me...Soo

The bald member (not me, I saw it in another post.) begs to differ.

I don't think it's from the head at all. Is everyone running around naked? People get in on their front, lower back... It's a fungus in your skin that is spurred by heat and sweat.

Re: Tinea/ Tingle

^^ agree

Matrix, i woudl lay off the tingles until you get it under control, even best case scenario sux:
if your tingle works & your tinea treatment doesnt, you will have even more contrast with your tingly super tanned skin & the white area affected by tinea

we had a girl in here who had an amazing tan - except where the tinea was & the treatment took awhile, in the meantime she was doing a mean Michael Jackson impersonation

no one wants to look like chocolate/vanilla swirl

Re: Tinea/ Tingle

What is tinea versicolor?

Tinea versicolor is a common fungal skin infection characterized by lighter or darker patches on the skin. Patches are most often found on the chest or back and prevent the skin from tanning evenly. It occurs mostly in adolescence and early adulthood, but it can occur at any time.
What are the symptoms of tinea versicolor?

Usually, the only symptom of tinea versicolor is the white or light brown patches. Patches may scale slightly, but rarely itch or hurt. Other common characteristics of the rash include the following:
  • white, pink, or brown patches
  • infection only on the top layers of the skin
  • the rash usually occurs on the trunk
  • the rash does not usually occur on the face
  • patches worsen in the heat, humidity, or if you are on steroid therapy or has a weakened immune system
  • patches are most noticeable in the summer
The symptoms of tinea versicolor may resemble other skin conditions. Always consult your physician for a diagnosis. How is tinea versicolor diagnosed?

Tinea versicolor is usually diagnosed based on a medical history and physical examination. The patches seen with this condition are unique, and usually allow the diagnosis to be made on physical examination. In addition, your physician may use an ultraviolet light to see the patches more clearly. Also, your physician may do skin scrapings of the lesions to help confirm the diagnosis.
Treatment for tinea versicolor:

Specific treatment for tinea versicolor will be determined by your physician based on:
  • your age, overall health, and medical history
  • extent of the condition
  • your tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or therapies
  • expectations for the course of the condition
  • your opinion or preference
Treatment usually includes the use of dandruff shampoo on the skin and hair, as prescribed by your physician. The shampoo is left on the skin overnight and washed off in the morning. To be effective, the shampoo treatment may be required for several nights. Tinea versicolor usually recurs, requiring additional treatments. Your physician may also prescribe topical creams or oral antifungal medications. It is also important to know that improvement in the skin may only be temporary, and a recurrence of the condition is possible. Your physician may also recommend using the shampoo monthly to help prevent recurrences. The treatment will not bring the normal color back to the skin immediately. This will occur naturally and may take several months.

taken from the ama website...

I still read somewhere it comes from a fungus on the scalp and falls on those areas...and I will continue to hunt for the article to benefit mysalf and wnyone else who cares to know...

Have a wonderful day, Soo

Re: Tinea/ Tingle

A Doctor that tans with us...said it originates in the scalp...and the flakes fall to the shoulders and those areas that are most affected...I see him every Thursday night on my shift...I shall ask again...as I do not like mis-information either...and so therefore I will try and get to the bottom or the top in this case..lol

Have a great Day, Soo
